  1. A fish of the family Mormyridae, noted for its ability to generate electric fields.
  2. A plownose chimaera, any fish in the not closely related genus Callorhinchus of cartilaginous fish, which uses its fleshy snout to feel for food in sediments and to sense electric fields.
