  1. (transitive) to marry (cause a couple to become married; officiate at a wedding).
  2. (transitive) to marry off (see to the marriage of another).

Usage notes

  • This is said of an officiant or someone else who causes a marriage, but not the spouses. The verb used for the spouses is edziĝi (to become married).
  • Where one causes the marriage of a woman specifically, edzinigi can be used.
