Etymology

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish ابدیاً (ebediyyen),[1] from Arabic أَبَدِيًّا (ʔabadiyyan) adverbial accusative of أَبَدِيّ (ʔabadiyy, eternal), from أَبَد (ʔabad, eternity) +‎ ـِيّ (-iyy, nisba suffix).[2]
