- (pharmacology) A semisynthetic antineoplastic drug C43H53NO14·3H2O (trademark Taxotere) that is administered intravenously to treat various cancers (as of the lung, breast, or prostate) and is derived from the needles of a yew tree (Taxus baccata) of Europe.
