[edit]Inherited from Ottoman Turkish طوغریسی (doğrusu, “the truth of the matter”),[1][2] equivalent to doğru (“true, straight, the truth”) + -(s)u (possessive suffix with "s" as buffer consonant). Cognates with Azerbaijani doğrusu, Turkmen dogrusy, Uzbek toʻgʻrisi.
