From the same unattested stem as the transitive verb derít (to clarify; purify, settle) +‎ -ül.[1]

  1. (intransitive, of weather, sky) to clear up
    Derül az idő.The weather is clearing up.
  2. (intransitive, of mood) to cheer up, brighten up
  3. (intransitive) to be amused (at or by something: -n/-on/-en/-ön)
    Ezen jót derültek.They were amused by this.
  4. In certain expressions, with -ra/-re:
    fény derül az igazságrathe truth will be revealed (literally: light will shine upon the truth)
    jókedvre derülto perk up, cheer up
