Noun
[edit]contour diaper (plural contour diapers)
- (Canada, US) A flat diaper which is already hourglass-shaped, rendering folding unnecessary.
- 1970, California Farmer[1], volume 232, page 9:
- The contour diaper is regarded by some experts as an attempt to improve an unimprovable product. Since these are hemmed, there is a chance that the thick edge will chafe—thus counteracting the possible advantages of less bulk in the diaper area. They are awkward to stack neatly.
- 2005, Mark E. Parry, Strategic Marketing Management: A Means-end Approach, McGraw-Hill, →ISBN, page 131:
- A new R&D effort produced Huggies, a contour diaper with an hourglass shape and elastic leg bands. Introduced in 1978, the new brand achieved national distribution in 1982. By the end of 1986, Huggies had a 34 percent share of the U.S. market.
- 2014, Manda Aufochs Gillespie, Green Mama: What Parents Need to Know to Give Their Children a Healthy Start and a Greener Future, Dundurn Press, →ISBN, page 53:
- Contour diapers are a step up from prefolds. You don't need to do any folding, they tend to be more absorbent, and they are less bulky.
