Etymology

From codladh (slepp) +‎ grifín, a word found only in this compound, related somehow to driúraic, gliúragáin, Middle Irish collad gribracach, as well as griofadach (tingling) and obsolete driubhragán or griobhragán (pricking pain).[3][4]
