chuquil m (plural chuquiles) (Peru)

  1. Andean wax palm (Ceroxylon parvifrons)
By the sides of the paths there blossoms rhatany and hemlock deals its strong smell; in the vale there it stands out between the leafy garnets, the Andean wax palm (Ceroxylon parvifrons), vested by pale pink, jacaranda, all violet; the Peruan Cerbera; of brillant green and yellow; jointly with jequirity and “conch tree”, so sought for its fruits to adorn; and the rest of the arboreal and leafless flora is covered by mosses, lichens and parasits thistles.
