[edit]Borrowed from New Latin chordae tendineae (literally “tendinous (tendon-like) cords”), from Latin chordae (plural of chorda (“cord, rope”)) + New Latin tendineae (plural of tendinea (“tendinous”), from Medieval Latin tendō (“tendon”)).[1][2]
