French
[edit]Etymology
[edit]From char + -oyer. Most likely of the same origin as charrier, from Old French charier, carier (it may have been influenced by similar verbs with two forms deriving from the same Old French; compare ployer and plier, proyer and prier). Compare also Italian carreggiare.
