- A device for controlling the visual stimulation of the eye.
- 1966, Ophthalmic Literature - Volume 20, page 566:
- Inverse occlusion and a red filter are used and repeated Visuscope checks made to determine the state of fixation. The centroscope is found to be a useful device as an adjunct to orthoptic and pleoptic treatments.

- If the fixation is wavering, especially when receiving the horizontal afterimage with the centroscope a thin pointer is used by the child to touch the fixation spot.
