[edit]casualism (countable and uncountable, plural casualisms)
- (uncountable, philosophy) The doctrine that all things exist, or are based on, randomness.
- (countable) A casual (informal) word or phrase.
- Avoid casualisms when writing business letters.
- (art) An art movement characterized by an unpolished esthetic, incorporating such elements as rough or torn edges, exposed staples, etc.
Usage notes
[edit]Do not confuse casualism (philosophy of chance) with causalism (philosophy of causes).
