cash up (third-person singular simple present cashes up, present participle cashing up, simple past and past participle cashed up)

  1. (idiomatic) to count the money taken by a business at the end of the day.
  2. (idiomatic, by extension) to count the cash contents of a cash register, after taking the till, and compare it to the expected amount (calculated by adding the float to the amount of cash received and then subtracting the change given and cash refunds paid out).
  3. (intransitive, idiomatic) to earn money
