Etymology

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish بیورق (buyuruḳ, a command, decree)[1] (alternatively بویرق), from Ottoman Turkish بیورق (buyurmaḳ, to order to be done, to decree, to deign or to condescend to say), from Proto-Turkic *buyur- (to order).[2][3] By surface analysis, buyur- +‎ -uk.
