[edit]Inherited from Sanskrit *बुभुक्षक (bubhukṣaka, “desiring to eat”) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀉𑀮𑁆𑀮- (-ulla-) + -𑀓- (-ka-), a back-formation from बुभुक्षति (bubhukṣati, “to desire to eat”) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀓- (-ka-).
