bizzilla

From Wiktionary, the free dictionary

Maltese

[edit]

Etymology

[edit]

From a diminutive of Italian pizzo. Lace originated in Italy in the 15th century and was produced in Malta by the 16th century. The Maltese word probably goes back to that time because the b- suggests an early borrowing.
