Etymology

[edit]

bi- (3rd person object prefix) + ∅- (3rd person subject prefix) + ∅- (classifier) + -kééʼ (noun/postposition stem used as a verb stem)

Verb

[edit]

  1. his/her/its tracks extend, lead somewhere
tábąąhgóó bikééʼits footprints extend along the shore
tábąąhgóó akééʼthere is a line of footprints along the shore

Usage notes

[edit]

This verb is semantically limited to expression in the third person.

As it makes use of a nominal stem, this verb is not technically neuter. However, similar to a neuter verb, it cannot be conjugated in other modes.

Although this verb cannot be conjugated with subject prefixes other than the third person, the object prefix reflects the maker of the tracks.

Postposition

[edit]

bikééʼ

  1. his/her/its tracks, trail
  2. behind, after him/her/it/them
  3. in their tracks
