Etymology

    Inherited from Sanskrit भीति (bhīti, fear) with some derivational suffix, or an l-variant of Sanskrit भीर (bhīra, intimidating). Cognate with Indus Kohistani [script needed] (bhīl, fear), Chilisso [script needed] (bihil, fear).[1]
