  1. (Cornwall, obsolete) A funeral; a burying.
    • 1867, Cornish Tales, in prose and verse by various authors, page 33:
      "What's that to you?" said Trevool, rather sharply, "worn't I to a berrin? []
    • 1898, The Cornish Magazine, volume 1, page 468:
      'Aw, my son,' she said, 'you do taake my meanin'; but theer, I do dearly love a berrin'.' Yes, a funeral is as dear to the Cornish heart as a preaching.
