Etymology

This etymology is missing or incomplete. Please add to it, or discuss it at the Etymology scriptorium.
Particularly: “This needs expansion. The initial bee- is most likely the more-often-separate prefix bee (with it, by means of it), and the l- classifier appears to be the passive. I dimly recall reading somewhere that the -dǫǫh verb stem is onomatopoeic?”

Literally, “an explosion is made with it”. Compare bee.
