Etymology

bandana +‎ huivi (kerchief); bandana-style kerchiefs belong to the traditional woman's costume in Finland and until recently they were called just huivi or sometimes päähuivi. The use of term bandanahuivi is a recent phenomenon influenced by ubiquitous presence of English in the modern world.
