Usage notes
[edit]- The word balsemien is not particularly common and is mostly encountered in reference to the Balsaminaceae family in its entirety (the so-called balsemienfamilie), or in the specific name reuzenbalsemien (Himalayan balsam, Impatiens glandulifera), an invasive species that is very common in Western Europe. Most plants in this family are instead known by the name springzaad.
