[edit]Borrowed from Arabic الزُفَيْزَف (az-zufayzaf, “jujube”), from Classical Syriac ܙܽܘܙܦܴܐ (zūzp̄ā), from Ancient Greek ζίζυφον (zízuphon). Doublet of jínjol.
