[edit]availability bias (countable and uncountable, plural availability biases)
- A tendency of decision-makers to give preference, usually unconsciously, to thoughts with higher availability to (that is, those readily retrievable by) the cognitive activity of the moment, such as recent information, vivid images that evoke emotions, and specific events personally experienced (more than abstractions or other people's reported experiences).
