[edit]Borrowed from Spanish achicoria, from earlier chicoria, probably through a Mozarabic intermediate, from Vulgar Latin, Late Latin *cichōria, from the plural of Latin cichōrium, from Ancient Greek κιχόρεια (kikhóreia).
