[edit]Etymology
[edit]From Proto-Germanic *aftrą, *aftrē, from Proto-Indo-European *h₂epoteros, whence also Old English æfter, Old High German aftar. Compare also eptir. Proto-Germanic *aftrē is probably related to Proto-Germanic *afteraz, *aftraz, and *afarē.
Adverb
[edit]aptr
Notes
[edit]The spelling with p is believed to be a localism for a labial fricative, perhaps IPA /ϕ/ instead of /f/.
