Inherited from Ottoman Turkish آپ آڭسز[1] or آپاڭسز (apañsız),[2] from آڭ (), intensive of ansız, from an (mind, perception, consciousness) +‎ -sız (without, -less), literally without awareness, oblivious.[3]
