[edit]From Ancient Greek ἀποκαλυπτικός (apokaluptikós, “revelatory”), from ἀποκαλύπτειν (apokalúptein, “to reveal, uncover”), from ἀπό (apó, “off”) + καλύπτειν (kalúptein, “to cover”).
