- When referring to the family relationship, piuthar-athar and piuthar-màthar are used.
- Cuin a thigeas piuthar d' athar? - When does your [paternal] aunt come?
- Chan fhaca mi piuthar mo mhàthar airson dà bhliadhna. - I haven't seen my [maternal] aunt for two years.
