Etymology

[edit]

From an- (un-, dis-) +‎ cyd-weld (to agree).

Verb

[edit]

anghydweld (first-person singular present anghydwelaf)

  1. (intransitive) to disagree
    Synonyms: anghytuno, anghydsynio

Usage notes

As the stress is on the final syllable, technically, this should be spelt with a hyphen as anghyd-weld. However, the older spelling anghydweld is very familiar and so extremely common.
