[edit]A derivative of Proto-Celtic *anati (“pause, remain”) and the active participle suffix -mnos from , which by spirantization of m became -uno.[1] [2]
Historical Attestation
[edit]Attested on the Genouilly inscription (L-4) as a proper name in the forms Aneunos, Aneuno (late Gaulish), Ανεουνος.[3]
