- (pharmacology) A drug that blocks the activity of interleukin-1 and is administered as a subcutaneous injection chiefly in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. It is a recombinant form of an endogenous antagonist of interleukin-1 receptor and is marketed under the trademark Kineret.
