Borrowed from Spanish adoquín, from Andalusian Arabic الدُّكَّان (ad-dukkán, ad-dukkín), from Arabic دُكَّان (dukkān), from Aramaic דּוּכָּנָא (dukkānā), from Akkadian 𒆠𒍇 (/⁠takkannu, dakkannu, dukkannu⁠/), ultimately from Sumerian 𒆠𒍇 (/⁠daggan⁠/).
