[edit]Borrowed from Andalusian Arabic الدرهم (ad-dárham), from Arabic دِرْهَم (dirham, “dirham”), from Middle Persian 𐭦𐭥𐭦𐭭 (drahm), from Ancient Greek δραχμή (drakhmḗ, “drachma”). Doublet of dracma and dírham.
