  1. An organic compound with the chemical formula (CNH2)2CCH3N3 (2,4-diamino-6-methyl-s-triazine), used in the manufacturing of melamine resins.
    • 1876, M. Nencki, “Products of Decomposition of Aceto (Methylene-) Guanamine”, in Journal - Chemical Society, London, volume 30, page 190:
Formoguanamine is either not attacked by acids and alkalis, or it is entirely decomposed by the continued action of oxidising agents, but acetoguanamine yields several products intermediate between itself and its final product, cyanuric acid.
    • 1953, D. K. Keel, ‎S. Kaganoff, ‎C. H. Mayhew, Research and Development Work Directed Toward a Tissue-equivalent Ionization Chamber, page 14:
It was extremely difficult to get complete dispersion of the acetoguanamine and the final compounds did not appear homogeneous to the extent desired.
    • 2009, Edwin M. Smolin, ‎ Lorence Rapoport, s-Triazines and Derivatives, Volume 13, page 223:
Thus, hydrolysis of "acetoguanamine” with one mole of water yielded a new compound which he called "guanide."
