[edit]Literally, "to Algiers, which is hot land". It derived an from when an Asturian feudal lord from Cadavedo defeated Saladin in a chess match, telling to him "volvéu en paz p'Argel, que ye tierra caliente" ("Go back peacefully to Algiers, which is a hot land").[1]
