XLR (plural XLRs)

1. (often attributive) A kind of electrical connector, circular and having between three and seven pins, primarily used with professional audiovisual and stage lighting equipment.

     Larger snake cables often have elaborate multipin connectors that lead to either a group of XLRs or a metal box with a group of chassis-mounted XLRs.
