Woodborough
Appearance
English
[edit]Etymology
[edit]From Old English widu (“wood”) + beorg (“hill”), with the second element at some point being misanalyzed as burh, giving the modern form borough. Otherwise, the modern form of beorg would have been berry (“mound, hill”), giving something like *Woodberry.
