Wiktionary talk:Utilities
Add topicI propose to move/merge this page with the newly created Wiktionary:Index to Internals which covers the same sort of area, but is intended to be a little more comprehensive as it intends to be a full index to all things Internal to Wiktionary, not just a list of Utilities.
If/when I do move/merge this page, I will change all the links to this page to refere to Wiktionary:Index to Internals instead, suitably changing their context too.
Since there is no discussion on this page, there is no talk page to move. There is also no edit history for the page to be moved.--Richardb 15:17, 20 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Wiktionary:Index to Internals has become an alphabetical list that is not particularly usable or helpful. If you know the name you can always use the search function. It would seem more useful to move relevant material back here, or to other pages as required. That way Wiktionary:Index to Internals can be deprecated. Eclecticology 08:17, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
Removed items
[edit]Wouldn't it be more friendly to wait to see if these points are developed before removing them. The material was only moved here today. Eclecticology 12:10, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
- I removed the links to Wiktionary:Indexes and Wiktionary:Wikisource linkages. The first one is a red link, the second one is…useless. I don't see why you reverted that change. Jon Harald Søby 12:23, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
- The red link remains to be developed. The other will likely be changed to deal with the broader question of interwiki links. If it really does end up useless I will have no problem removing it myself. Eclecticology 18:36, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
- Well, I see no point in having it there now. If it ever becomes useful (which I doubt), it can be put back in. Right now, neither is a utility, and thus shouldn't be left on this page. Jon Harald Søby 21:06, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
Prettify
[edit]I will prettify this page when the Main Page is redecorated. I promise --Dangherous 20:29, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
- Don't worry about it. This was a product of merging the old Index to Internals, then I started looking at the Community Portal. One possibility might be to delete most of the things on this page that duplicate things that are already on the Community Portal, leaving only a few less well used pages that could be redistributed elsewhere. EC strikes again ??
[edit]EC! Was it you who renamed/moved Index to Internals to "Utilities", and now you are using the name Utilities to justify moving stuff out of the page ! Unreal!
This page is much more than a list of Utilities. So it should not be named Utilities. I know you have problems handling titles with more than one word in them, but don't corrupt the meaning entirely like that, and then use that corruption as an argument for destroying the page!--Richardb 08:05, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
