Agreed. I was going to write something along the same lines with regard to some sort of template for translations. The code is unreadable as well. Davilla 09:56, 24 July 2005 (UTC)

Yes! Please! Russian is a perfect example of why this (or a complete rethinking of the layout for translations) is a great idea! 90% of the page is translations -- and I was just looking for a simple definition. Ewlyahoocom 12:40, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

The template has just been coded. Syntax is as follows:

{{trans-top|explanation of translation (to differentiate between multiple meanings)}}
* translation 1
* translation 2
{{trans-mid}}
* translation 3 (second column)
* translation 4, etc
{{trans-bottom}}

This yields the pleasing result of:

hiding translations

• French: cacher les traductions
• Japanese: 訳語を隠す yakugo o kakusu
• (deprecated template usage) {{trans-mid}}
• Korean: 역어를 잠추기 yŏgŏ rul jamch'ugi
• Portuguese: esconder as traduções

We already have a set of three templates that do the job. {{trans-top}}, {{trans-mid}} and {{trans-bottom}}. SemperBlotto 13:18, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
