Terms "karjala" and "kariela" referring to the language are noted here: https://kaino.kotus.fi/cgi-bin/kks/karjala.cgi?a=karjala&l=1

The Olonets Karelian (Livvi) term karjal is not mentioned there, as the Livvi speakers did not originally know the ethnonym karjalaine, karjalaińi etc. and they simply called themselves livviköi or liygiläne. https://kaino.kotus.fi/cgi-bin/kks/karjala.cgi?a=livvi&l=1 --Kapulakone (talk) 14:19, 21 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
