Implementation Notes
[edit]A few notes about making gadgets.
- Preference names may not be over 32 characters
- Preferences are loaded early on (can't use MediaWiki:Common.js but you can use wikibits.js, ajax.js, mwsuggest.js, ajaxwatch.js)
Discussion
[edit]Wikipedia imports
[edit]Wikipedia has few large gadgets that might be used here.
- w:User:Cacycle/wikEd (a full-featured integrated text edito)
- w:Wikipedia:Twinkle (a set of tools for Firefox, Safari, and Opera that automates common tasks such as reporting vandalism, warning vandals, and requesting deletion) - we might have to customize this for Wiktionary
- w:User:TheDJ/HotCat (quick editing of page categories)
- w:Wikipedia:Friendly (automates some of Wikipedia's more friendly, collaboration oriented tasks, such as welcoming new users) - we might have to customize this for Wiktionary
- w:MediaWiki:Gadget-DejaVu_Sans.css (a font w/ dingbat support for people that can't install fonts) --Bequw → τ 16:51, 4 March 2010 (UTC)
Should we bring any of these over? --Bequw → τ 22:45, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
