(New Zealand, informal) New Zealand. We are having a holoalphabetic month—each day features a term starting with a different letter of the alphabet (and two numbers)! Yesterday was Waitangi Day, the national day of New Zealand. It marks the anniversary of the initial signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, which is regarded as the founding document of the nation, 185 years ago on 6 February 1840.
