(criminal law, international law) A punishable offence under international law for violations of the laws of war by any person or persons, military or civilian. Today is the Day of International Criminal Justice, which was instituted in 2010 by the states parties to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court to recognize the importance of international criminal justice.
