One of a series of small rectangular fortifications, spaced roughly one Roman mile apart, built during the period of the Roman Empire. Last Saturday, 15 October 2022, was International Archaeology Day which was established by the Archaeological Institute of America to celebrate archaeology and its contributions to society.
