Wiktionary:Spell check

From Wiktionary, the free dictionary

This project reports misspelled words and other markup problems in the English Wiktionary, so that editors can fix them.

Problem listings

[edit]

How to dispatch problems

[edit]
  • Misspelling: Fix the definition page, then strike through the listing on the problem report.
  • Word missing from Wiktionary: Create a definition page, then strike through the listing on the problem report.
  • HTML: Replace with wikitext markup on definition page, then strike through the listing on the problem report. For how-to suggestions, see w:Category:Articles with HTML markup.
  • Legitimate word does not meet Wiktionary:Criteria for inclusion: Leave a note on the problem report entry.
  • Word should not have been reported as problematic: Leave a note on the problem report entry.

Spellings that are currently considered incorrect have sometimes been used in the past, and so might need "archaic spelling" or "obsolete spelling" entries created for them. These often show up in quotations. See Wiktionary:Forms and spellings for more information.

About
