Juba Arabic (ISO code pga) is a Sudanese Arabic-based creole spoken in South Sudan.

Orthography

[edit]

Lemma entries should be in Latin script and are recommended to follow the orthography proposed by Ian Smith and Morris T. Ama ({{R:pga:Smith-Ama}}), which uses a double vowel to indicate stress in non-initial syllables. Spellings that do not follow this system may be included as alternative forms if they are attestable.

Etymologies

[edit]

Because Juba Arabic is a creole language, the {{derived}} template is used instead of {{inherited}} to show lexical derivation from Arabic or Sudanese Arabic.
