Chinese Pidgin English, also known as Chinese Costal Pidgin, is a pidgin language spoken along the Chinese coast during the 18th-20th centuries.
Considerations
[edit]There are some differences between the pidgin as spoken by Europeans and as spoken by the Chinese. Terms should generally be lemmatised at the spelling according to European sources, with the Chinese spelling as an alternative form.
Quotations should follow the orthography of the source; when quoting Chinese texts, {{cpi-q}}
may be useful for formatting.
