[edit]- (Noord-Holland) First attested as voghelsanc in 1298. Compound of Middle Dutch vogel (“bird”) and sanc (“song”). Named after a former hunting lodge of the Counts of Holland.
- (Noord-Brabant) Attested as den Vogelenzang in 1817. Derived from a compound of vogel (“bird”) and zang (“song”). Originally the name of a field.
